I just sent a query letter off to an agent. It's the first query I've sent since I was querying
Titan Magic a year ago. This one is, of course, for a different novel, which I cannot yet post here (it has to get its butt kicked in the professional arena first). It feels strange to be querying again, but at the same time, it feels kind of good. I'm much less nervous about it, now that I don't see the agent as the only path there is to take. I think Deviant Art has been a big part of overcoming that fear.
So I wanted to thank the community here, my followers, and the artists and writers I adore. It's good to have a creative outlet that isn't dependent on commercial marketability. Art, including literature, is such a personal thing that it's hard not to get personally attached to the people you share it with. And sharing my stories has helped to give me more courage and optimism, which I'm sure I'll need for the road ahead.
In short, you people are all awesome.

I could learn so much from you regarding the entire publication process. To see you're "querying again" is unbelievable. I'd love to talk about your experiences with Titan Magic out there in the publishing world. I've read all about he process, the Query letter, agents, etc. but haven't gotten farther than that yet.
So you've got a SECOND novel separate from Titan Magic already completed??
It's nice to hear that DA has helped you gain courage!! I feel the exact same way!
And yes, I do try to say a couple projects ahead of what I'm actually sharing. My process is write draft one of project one, write draft one of project two, revise project one, write draft one of project 3, edit project one, revise project two, write draft one of project four… Kind of like that. So right now I have the rough draft of Titan Magic: Body and Soul written; an unrelated project written, revised and edited; and another unrelated project halfway through draft one. It gets confusing, but it keeps me on my toes and allows my projects to age a bit before I dive into revisions, which allows me to see them with fresher eyes.
